Women's Corner

As the new year unfolds, I'm reminded of the insightful words of playwright Hillary DePiano: “We all get the exact same 365 days. The only difference is what we do with them.” The KAGW's Women's Club's goal this year is to imbibe the essence of this statement to support the women in our community to achieve their full potential.

Our mission involves engaging in inspiring and meaningful activities, focusing on personal and professional development, health, work/life balance, and parenting. For the year 2024, KAGW has a dynamic team of like-minded and resilient women who have come together to turn this vision into reality. A Poem (SEE) - In the incessance of hunger pangs the lonely child speaks through tears. In the helplessness of tired hands the hopeful mother toils with fear. Where is God?

In the resonance of echoed pleas the strayed man shouts to passersby. In the clinking rhythm played by coins that promise emptiness and lies. Where is God?

In the innocence of doubt and hate the orphaned offsprings learn to spurt. In their dreads and silenced dreams, the daunt they face the feel of dirt. Where is God?

In the assurance of evil pain the torn-up child or person feels. In the partly death always relived, the birth of lust that made them yield. Where is God?

In her might and resolved stance, to cease her child’s hurting cries. In his will and sturdy voice, to live each day and not to die. I see God.

In the hearts that sought to have, and nurture as their own, the child, abandoned through fate or hate, and in that child’s absolving gaze. I see God.

In the power to continue their dreams; to come out of strife. Forgiving those that snatched and drew from them a part of precious life. I see God.
